Job Description

Momentum is currently seeking a Group Program Coordinator to support our pediatrics program in Torrance. The Group Program Coordinator is a key leadership role and oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of our Early Intervention Program, afternoon Social Skills Program, and Summer Day Camp. Reporting to the Group Programs Director, this position requires a strong background in working with children with disabilities, as well as a passion for creating dynamic, inclusive environments. The Coordinator will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, educators, community stakeholders, and volunteers to ensure smooth and effective program operations.

Group Program Manager Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Monitors and ensures the overall quality of early intervention, social skills, summer camps, and other group programs, along with their services and staff.
  • Ensures that the day-to-day needs of early intervention classrooms, social skills groups, camp groups, and other programs are met, with a focus on the needs of the children and families.
  • Supports the intake process by working with the Intake Administrator and Early Intervention Program Assistant to process client referrals, assist with intake forms, and schedule family tours when necessary.
  • Provides supervision and ongoing training to early intervention teachers, camp staff, program assistants, and other group program leaders, in collaboration with therapists, social skills coordinators, and camp leaders.
  • Join the group programs team to monitor current trends and identify growth opportunities, ensuring programs remain responsive to the needs of children and families
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of monthly billing for all group programs.
  • Support the Group Programs Director in communicating program updates, challenges, and successes to staff and families.

Group Program Manager Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in child development, early childhood education, education, special education, or a closely related child-focused specialty; required
  • Three (3) years of experience in a human services delivery system
  • At least one (1) year in a comparable program 
  • Bilingual in Spanish; highly preferred
  • Must maintain valid and current proof of legal right to drive in California; required 
  • Strong desire to work with individuals with disabilities 
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills 
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to prioritize with changing situations
  • Ability to recognize and problem solve 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, physical exam, drug screening, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to fifty (50) pounds
