Our client, a leader in the medical device industry, is seeking an Optical Designer to join their team. As an Optical Designer, you will be part of the engineering department supporting innovative product development. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Optical Designer

Location: Princeton, NJ

Pay Range: Competitive, based on experience

What's the Job?

• Model and design optical components for new and existing medical device products.
• Evaluate system-level requirements and create optics assembly and component-level requirements.
• Utilize ZEMAX lens design software for optimizing optical designs.
• Create mechanical tolerances for optical elements and assemblies.
• Participate in design reviews and document designs in reports and presentations.

What's Needed?

• BSc in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant optical engineering experience, or MSc/PhD with 8+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in ZEMAX lens design software.
• Strong understanding of optical design principles and mechanical tolerances.
• Experience in packaging requirements analysis.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
