- We are seeking a passionate, self-driven, board-certified Palliative Care Physician to join our dynamic team and serve a growing patient population. The Palliative Care Physician includes extensive clinical expertise in the full range of palliative care within the inpatient and outpatient settings. Palliative Care is an expanding specialty of palliative care services focused on providing ongoing education, support, and consultation to healthcare professionals, seriously ill patients, and their families to help minimize suffering and to improve quality of life. We have two main hospitals, located in Newport Beach and Irvine.
- Clinical Duties include:
- Provide inpatient consultation services in palliative care and facilitate clarification of patient and family goals of care.
- Consult with the attending physician and the Interdisciplinary Team to establish a written plan of care at intervals specified in the plan.
- Routine communication with referring providers to promote continuity of care while facilitating access to appropriate supportive care services.
- Participation in on-call coverage with the interdisciplinary team as needed.
- Adhere to the practice of confidentiality regarding patients, families, staff, and the organization.
- Outpatient Clinic Only :
- Responsible for all clinic sessions per week, including all associated direct and indirect patient care and administration.
- In conjunction with the outpatient NP and Social Worker, plans and participates in weekly outpatient meetings to review efficiencies and ensure effective clinical care
Requirements
- MD or DO degree and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted California medical license.
- Two (2) years’ experience within a Palliative or Hospice Care setting
- Board certified or eligible in Hospice/Palliative Medicine or equivalent experience.
