• Education: High school diploma required.
• Experience: Previous hospital experience preferred.
• Licensure/certification/registration: De-Escalation Techniques (within 90 days of employment), required. Life Support Responder (within 90 days of employment), required. Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) Training (within 90 days after completion of De-Escalation Training), required.
• Additional skills preferred: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing as applicable. Is knowledgeable regarding guidelines for infection control, body substance precautions, patient safety, and body mechanics. Maintains acceptable standards set by those guidelines. Ability to work with all age group patients or act as a companion. Basic computer skills for documentation.
