Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in estimating the costs associated with commercial roofing projects. The primary responsibility of the role is to evaluate project specifications, conduct thorough assessments of roofing systems, and provide accurate estimates for materials, labor, and overall project costs. The Commercial Roofing Estimator will collaborate with various stakeholders, including project managers, clients, suppliers, and contractors, to ensure precise and competitive estimates while maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Project Assessment:

• Review and analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand the scope and requirements of commercial roofing projects.
• Conduct on-site inspections and assessments to evaluate existing roofing systems, identify potential issues, and gather essential data for accurate estimations.

1. Cost Estimation:

• Utilize industry-specific software and tools to calculate and prepare comprehensive estimates for material quantities, labor costs, equipment, and other project expenses.
• Research and procure pricing for materials and supplies from multiple vendors to ensure competitive and cost-effective estimates.
• Prepare detailed and itemized bid proposals, outlining all necessary components of the project and associated costs.

1. Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify project requirements and resolve potential discrepancies in plans or specifications.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project scope, timelines, and budgetary constraints.

1. Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated with industry trends, building codes, regulations, and technological advancements in roofing materials and methodologies.
• Implement best practices and innovative approaches to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the estimation process.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience (5 years) as a Commercial Roofing Estimator or similar role within the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, installation techniques, and relevant building codes and regulations.
• Proficiency in using estimation software, such as “The Edge”, and familiarity with project management tools.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in producing accurate and competitive estimates.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant certifications or training in estimating, roofing systems, or project management are advantageous.
