Patent Litigation Associate w/ CS or EE Degree, Markman exp. - REMOTE (to $350k) The position entails a billable requirement of 1850 hours, with an additional 50 hours dedicated to diversity pro-bono work , resulting in a requirement of 1900 hours. In alignment with applicable Federal and State laws, the expected annual salary ranges for this position, contingent on the location (good faith estimates): Providence, RI: $200,000 to $220,000, Los Angeles, CA: $325,000 to $350,000, San Francisco, CA: $325,000 to $350,000, Albany, NY: $200,000 to $220,000, Long Island, NY: $240,000 to $265,000, New York, NY: $325,000 to $350,000, Rochester, NY: $200,000 to $220,000, Chicago, IL: $325,000 to $350,000. Ideally, the new hire will be able to work onsite at one of the offices mentioned above, with a strong preference for Chicago or Los Angeles , however candidates that prefer to work fully remote from home will be considered. Job Requirements & Responsibilities: Candidates must possess 6-8 years of patent litigation experience , with a focus on drafting and responding to pleadings, preparing infringement and invalidity claim charts. Experience engaging in Markman and claim construction proceedings, overseeing patent-specific fact and expert discovery, handling inter partes reviews, and formulating overall litigation strategies is required . Experience in patent trials is advantageous. Highly desired qualifications include USPTO admission. Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is required , along with substantial experience litigating matters related to these or similar disciplines. Take direct responsibility in various areas including drafting pleadings, motions, memoranda, and correspondence for use in state and federal court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings. Handle drafting and responding to complex discovery requests. Conduct negotiations and communications with opposing counsel. Prepare for, defend, and conduct depositions. Prepare for trial, including tasks such as creating exhibit lists, raising evidentiary objections, drafting motions in limine, and conducting witness preparation. Prepare Federal Circuit appeal briefs. Supervise and train junior associates. Strong academic credentials. Exceptional judgment and communication skills.
