Are fireworks allowed in Santorini?
Yes. Fireworks are used at weddings and events across Santorini, and we run displays on the island throughout the season. What decides the answer for you is not the island, it is the venue: some venues allow a full aerial display, some allow ground fireworks only, and some allow silent aerial but not regular aerial.
So the useful version of this question is always “are fireworks allowed at my venue”. Tell us the venue name and we will tell you exactly what can be set off there. See our venue by venue guide for the venues we are asked about most.
Who has to approve the display?
The venue. Venue policy is what decides whether aerial, ground, daytime or silent fireworks can be used at all, and at Rocabella daytime is possible only once you have confirmed approval with the venue’s own team.
Send us the venue and the date and we will confirm what is possible at that location before you commit to anything.
Which venues allow which kind of fireworks?
It varies venue by venue, and the differences are significant. Here are the venues we are asked about most often, as the rules stand at the time of writing. Always confirm with us when you enquire, because a venue can change its policy.

How much do wedding fireworks cost in Santorini?
Our named aerial packages run from €560 for a two minute display up to €2,700 for six minutes, VAT included. Ground fountains start from €50 per piece and daytime coloured shots are €80 per piece, VAT included.

How long does a fireworks display last?
An aerial display lasts between two and six minutes, depending on the package you choose. Ground fountains burn for 30 or 60 seconds each. Silent aerial pieces are much shorter, roughly 15 to 80 seconds each, and daytime fireworks are single shots.

If a venue allows silent aerial only, do not expect a two to six minute show. Silent pieces are timed in seconds, and a silent display is built by combining several of them.
What is the difference between aerial, ground, daytime and silent fireworks?
They are four separate products, they look completely different, and venues treat them differently. Aerial is the classic display in the night sky. Ground fireworks are fountains that burn on the ground. Daytime fireworks are coloured smoke shot into the air in daylight. Silent aerial goes up but without the bang, which is what restricted venues ask for.
- Aerial fireworks. Our six named packages, two to six minutes, launched after dark. Banned outright at some venues.
- Ground fireworks (fountains). Four sizes: 3 metres for 30 seconds, 3 metres for 60 seconds, 4 metres for 60 seconds and 6 metres for 60 seconds. The 3 metre, 60 second fountain is the indoor option, the others are for outdoor use.
- Daytime fireworks. Coloured smoke shots for daylight ceremonies and receptions. Sold per piece, in one of nine colours.
- Silent aerial fireworks. Low noise aerial pieces, each running roughly 15 to 80 seconds. This is the answer at Cavo Ventus and El Viento, where regular aerial is not allowed.
Can we choose the colours?
For daytime fireworks, yes, within a fixed range. The available colours are red, white, green, blue, yellow, pink, purple, orange and light blue. Gold, silver, brown and metallic shades are not available, and precise shades or fine tuned palettes cannot be matched, because this is smoke in the air rather than paint.
Two honest notes. If you want our recommendation, the rainbow scheme gives the most impressive show. And an all white display is something we can supply, but white has poor contrast against the sky, so the result is underwhelming.
What happens if it is too windy?
We monitor the weather closely and will cancel without charge if conditions such as wind make the fireworks unfeasible. You do not pay for a show that does not run, and you are not asked to make the call yourself.
Daytime fireworks are very sensitive to wind, because the effect is smoke. Judging the conditions is our responsibility, not yours.
How do we pay, and is there a deposit?
There is no deposit. We prefer payment on the day of the event, though we can send you our bank details if you would rather pay in advance.
Your booking is confirmed when we confirm it, not when money moves.
How far in advance should we book?
Book whenever you are ready. We are available and can confirm a date firmly at the point you ask, rather than putting you on a list and coming back to you.
Bookings for future years are quoted at current prices, so booking early does not cost you anything. If you are planning a 2027 wedding, today’s price list applies.
How early does the crew arrive?
We arrive roughly 20 minutes before the show time to set up. If your event is more than two weeks away when you book, we ask you to confirm the exact timing a few days before the event so we can tailor the display to the venue and the evening’s schedule.
Do you supply fireworks for events other than weddings?
Yes. We supply fireworks for weddings and for other events on the island. The catalogue is the same and so are the venue rules, so the first question is still where it is happening.
Can we see video of previous shows?
Yes, for two of our aerial packages. We have sample videos of the Zeus package and the Aphrodite package on YouTube.
Treat both as a sample rather than a script. We change the fireworks we use every year, so your display will not be shot for shot identical. For ground and daytime fireworks we send sample photographs on request.
Do you deliver sparklers and smoke bombs, or do we collect them?
Handheld items are collected from our shop. We do not deliver smoke bombs or sparklers. The shop is at Shopping Center “Ermis”, Fira, Santorini 84700, open 11:30 to 14:30 and 18:30 to 20:00, and it is worth calling +30 2286 021800 before you come.
There is one exception. If your order also includes a display that our crew attends on site, we bring the handheld items with us when we arrive for the show. We do not make a separate delivery trip and we do not deliver early in the morning.

Do you work with wedding planners?
Yes, and most of our work comes through them. Planners generally give us the venue, the date and the order in one email, which is all we need to confirm.
If you are a couple working with a planner, either route is fine. Write to us directly with your venue and date, or ask your planner to come to us.
Do you cover other islands?
We work in Santorini. Fireworks cannot be bought from us and carried to another island or to the mainland, so if your event is elsewhere in Greece, ask us before you make plans and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
What do you need from us to quote?
The venue and the date. Without the venue we cannot quote accurately, because the venue decides what is even possible: a quote for an aerial package is worthless if your venue allows ground fireworks only.
A general area such as Fira or Oia is not enough. We need the actual venue or restaurant. Once we have it, you get prices and options on the next reply.
