Your venue decides. We already know what it says.
Every venue on the island has its own view on fireworks. Some welcome everything, some allow ground fireworks only, a few permit aerial only if it’s silent. We learned most of this by firing there, season after season. Here is what we know about the places we work most, and what we bring to each. Policies do change, so we always reconfirm with your venue before you book.
Ten years of working the same terraces.
Cavo Ventus
A private villa on the island’s southern cliffs, white terraces stepping down towards the water and a pool that seems to end in the sea. One of our longest relationships, and the venue we built our silent aerial set around.
The sound rules here are strict, and the answer to them is a sky show that looks exactly like the real thing without the bang. Guests still look up. The terrace still goes quiet.
El Viento
A villa on the lip of the caldera with the volcano straight ahead, named for the wind that moves across that terrace at dusk. Same sound rules as Cavo Ventus, same answer from us.
Silent pieces over the water, fountains on the terrace, colour in the afternoon. The view does the rest.
Thermes
Terraces cut into the caldera side with nothing between the guests and the sea, and a wide, open sky above it. No restrictions on standard aerial, which makes it one of the venues where the full packages come into their own.
If you’ve been reading about Aphrodite or Artemis and wondering where they look best, this is the kind of place.
Rocabella
A hotel on the Imerovigli cliff with one of the most photographed sunsets on the island, and a terrace that fills with gold in the last hour of light. Fountains at the first dance here are a favourite of ours.
Ground fireworks are the default. Daytime smoke is possible with the venue team’s approval, which we’ll help you arrange.
Le Ciel
A terrace built for ceremonies, high above the caldera, where the sunset does most of the decorating. Ground fireworks only here, and we know exactly where the fountains sit on that floor.
Four columns of sparks either side of a first dance, against that view, is more than enough.
Eros
Stone walls, amphitheatre steps and a big sky to the south, away from the caldera crowds. Room for a full display and a floor for the fountains.
Aerial and ground are both welcome. Daytime smoke isn’t, so plan the colour for the evening instead.
Venues we fire at regularly.
These follow our standard catalogue: aerial packages, ground fountains, daytime coloured smoke, all available unless the venue tells us otherwise for a particular date.
Your venue isn’t here? Tell us the name. We’ll tell you what’s possible, usually from memory.
Some come from the venue.
A hotel with guests sleeping nearby, a terrace with a thatched roof, a neighbour who has asked nicely. Each venue sets its own policy, and it can change between seasons.
Some come from the place.
Parts of the island have their own restrictions on aerial fireworks. When that’s the case, silent aerial or ground fireworks are usually the answer, and the evening loses nothing.
We carry all of it in our heads.
Tell us the venue and the date before you fall for a particular package. We’ll say what’s possible, then quote it. That order saves everyone a disappointment.
